GTA 5 Cheats for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S: Every Button Code

GTA 5 on console uses the classic method: you tap a sequence of buttons while you are playing. It is quick once you know it, but one wrong press and nothing happens. Below is every story mode cheat for PlayStation and Xbox side by side, plus the reasons a code might not work.

I build Cheatly: Game Cheat Codes, a free offline cheat code app for iPhone and iPad, and the screenshots here come from it. If you want every code on your phone next to the controller, get Cheatly on the App Store.

How do I enter GTA 5 cheats on PS4, PS5 and Xbox?

1. Load story mode. Cheats do not work in GTA Online.
2. Make sure you are in normal gameplay: not paused, not in the phone, not in a cutscene.
3. Press the sequence quickly and in order. Left, Right, Up and Down mean the D-pad, not the stick.
4. If it worked, "Cheat activated" appears in the top corner.

Some cheats are toggles. Enter the same code again to switch them off. The same codes work on PS4 and PS5, and on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Is there a money cheat in GTA 5?

No. GTA 5 has no cheat that gives money, on any platform. The common ways to earn money in story mode are Lester's assassination missions combined with the stock market, heists, and property income. Sites and videos that promise a money code for story mode or GTA Online are either fake or scams.

Why is my GTA 5 cheat not working?

• You used the stick instead of the D-pad for directions.
• You were too slow or pressed a button twice. Try again at a steady pace.
• You are in a mission that blocks cheats, in a cutscene, or in a menu.
• You are in GTA Online, where cheats do not work.
• The cheat does not fit the situation, for example Skyfall indoors or a vehicle spawn on a narrow street.

Do cheats disable trophies and achievements?

Yes. After you use any cheat, trophies and achievements are disabled for the rest of that session. Save, quit and reload to earn them again. Do not save over your main slot straight after using cheats that change the world. More in do cheat codes disable achievements.

Is there a faster way than button codes?

Yes. You can dial cheat numbers on the in-game phone, which is easier than a 16-button combo. See GTA 5 cheat phone numbers. On PC, the same cheats are typed into a console: see GTA 5 cheats for PC.

How Cheatly helps

• 3,300+ single-player cheats across 84 games, all stored on your iPhone or iPad.
• Shown the way your platform enters them: PlayStation and Xbox button chips, copyable PC console text, and in-game phone numbers.
• Search by name or by effect, such as "wanted" or "helicopter", and filter by category.
• Favourites for the codes you use every session.
• Read aloud, so you can enter long combos with the controller in your hands.
• Works offline, with no account and no sign-up.

Download Cheatly free on the App Store and stop searching the web mid-game.
